1960 Nikon F is an early example of the Nikon's venerable
first SLR. The early examples had a hollow advance lever as well as
a stepped self timer lever with 12 diagonal grooves, a
pentaprism finder known as an "eye-level" finder with a detachable
light meter that couples witrh the shutter speed dial and the metering
prong on the lens. This example has the Light Meter Model II with an
ASA range of 6 to 4000 as well as a Nippon Kogaku,
Japan Nikkor-S f1.4 / 58mm lens. This is the camera
that made the Nikon name synonymous with quality and reliability at an
affordable cost, much to the dismay of Leica and Zeiss.
