The successor to the Nikon EM camera, the FG is the smallest, most compact SLR offered by Nikon. Despite having a less advanced shutter than contemporary, more expensive professional Nikons, it was the first Nikon with Multi mode Auto Exposure. A has very sophisticated electronic design compared to earlier electromechanical Nikons. Not nearly as well built as the Nikkormat FT3 or the Nikon FA but it is still a very good entry level model which can use all the manual focus lenses in the Nikon repertory. Came in chrome or black.
