A compact fixed lens rangefinder camera with a 40mm f1.7 lens in a 1/500th Copal shutter. Unusual in a compact rangefinder, the QL17 has a parallax correcting brightline frame. An integrated lightmeter is located in the lens and is coupled to both shutter priority and manual modes. This is the second generation QL17,  the New Canonet is smaller and lighter than the 1965 original. A fully automatic flash system is incorporated which allows flash synch for all shutter speeds. A battery check button lights up a light in the viewfinder. An under-rated point and shoot camera that is still very popular with street shooters for its virtually silent operation and quick focusing.
